Between 1820 and 1830 early settlers in the Wentzville area included:  Thomas Pearce, Charles P. May,  Myers, Pines Allen, John & Jonathan Jones, Abraham Keithly, Col. Daniel Keithly. Henry Abington, Elijah Carr, George Cannon, James Drummond, Smith & B.H. Ball,  and Mrs. James Shelton and Children.   Many of these families came from the Rockingham, North Carolina area and were related by blood or marriage.
